I am getting ready to take home a shelter cat and yes she will be vegan!
One of the problems I worry about though, is that Honey is an overweight cat. She is not overweight as SOME cats at the shelter but it has to be rough on her. I was thinking I can exercise her on a leash or something but I do not know how well cats do on a leash.
When I first met honey a few months back she was talkative ad very affectionate. I was so surprised to see her there a few months later! She now seems sadder and not so willing to ask for attention from strangers. I was going to adopt a kitten from a friend, but I promised her if I wasn't getting a kitten I would get her. She kind of looked at me like, if you love me, take me home...
Well, turns out I am not getting that kitten! My friends pregnant cat's kittens died, all but one, and they want to keep him, so I am getting honey.
I visited her again and she had a lot of loose hair and dandruff...
So I am wondering how I start to fix her problems. Will being on a vegan diet help her lose weight? (she used to be a skinny cat, her first shelter pic proved that) And is dandruff a symptom of something I should be worried about?
I've never had a kitty before!
